Armenian State University of Economics 2nd International Scientific-Educational group was formed in the framework of ASUE Grant Research Project – Globalization and Developing Countries’ Challenges. The Group’s main feature is the involvement of three foreign MBA students from Syria and India who are being trained at ASUE. The Group plans to submit the research outcomes both in English and Armenian.
PROJECT SUMMARY: MISSION, OBJECTIVES AND TASKS
Globalization is one of the modern processes of interaction and international
integration which connects the world’s economies and cultures. It is a serious
economic-political-cultural phenomenon which covers more and more countries and
regions all over the world. Economic integration of different countries
promotes the globalization processes stimulating foreign trade and transactions
development, capital and investment movements, migration and movement of people
and the dissemination of knowledge.
Globalization has
been driven by the policies which opened economies domestically and
internationally. Being a controversial phenomenon it has a huge number of advantages
and disadvantages, unique implications in different countries and regions. Globalization has a lot of positive and negative effects on
socio-economic development of different countries, which should be researched
and explored by the scholars and practitioners.
Group’s Mission is
the evaluation and analysis of theoretical and methodological, practical
foundations of globalization processes, exploration of causes and consequences
of globalization, its effects and challenges in different countries, especially
in developing countries. The problem is also relevant to the Republic of
Armenia taking into consideration the modern trends of integration processes.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES
• Development of globalization theoretical
and practical approaches,
• Exploration of globalization advantages and disadvantages, effects
and challenges in developing countries,
• Comparative analysis of globalization economic, environmental,
cultural, security impacts in developing countries.
PROJECT TASKS
• To assess the challenges and effects of globalization in developing
countries,
• To examine globalization development trends in different regions and developing
countries,
• To develop recommendations for minimizing negative impacts of
globalization,
• To evaluate the activity of international institutions in globalization
processes,
• To explore the opportunities of most efficient implication of
globalization in developing countries.
